A brief visit to Durrell Zoo on Easter Monday was rewarded with 15 minutes of the most delightful antics from two otters who came out to play. Moments before they emerged I heard one lady say to her friend that she had only seen the otters once in several visits. She should have waited a moment longer for two otters, a male and a female emerged blinking from an underground pen, and began their routine starting with toilet and a good wash, then a swim and some fishing and lots of play before retiring a little out of sight for some mating. This photo captures the scene.
